Land Raider finished

Only thing left is Purity Seal and some 'Ard Coat on lenses. So feast your eyes on the finished product. Hope you like it, but all (civil) comments are welcome!

Vroom vroom says Lysander's ride :)

To finish it off a higher quality photo of the Ultramarine. Should be possible to see the VIII on top of the Jump Pack this time around.

  1. AWESOME! wow, I didn't want to buy a land raider but this is making me think my decision twice. Also great job on the ultramarine, only thing i don't get is why is he looking up?

  2. @Ashi They are quite cool, but a bit hard to assemble to be honest. A much cooler vehicle than the Rhino-chassis though :)

The Ultramarine model was already assembled and primed when I got him, so I couldn't do much for the pose. I was able to fix the jump pack and reposition both arms, but the head/body/legs are the way they came. Dropping him off tomorrow so I'll post a little something about the reaction:)

  3. Very cool. I've always loved the look of the Land Raider, and as always, the yellow is just impressive.

  4. @rkik I hope people will have the same reaction when they see it in person :) If you ever go south to the big city to hit any of the stores, let me know and I'll meet you there with my army transport and yellow marines:)

And regarding yellow, it's just too hard to do well without an airbrush unless you are a true wizard with the brush:)

  6. @woroxon Thanks! I hope to get even better in the future. And as far as blue goes, I do like blue (and green):) A lot. But I will save my blue for my Eldar. Hopefully some really neat Alaitoc Eldar:)

  9. @AmongTheWay Thanks! Sometimes it's hard to see progress as you usually have your nose close to whatever you are painting at the moment. Except my Rhinos which I have worked on a bit now and then, so I see the poor earlier results. Hopefully all new vehicles will be Land Raider or better quality :)

As soon as Rhino #1 is done I will have to choose between infantry (Tactical, Sternguard, and Pedro) or Land Speeders :)
