Weathering

This is Vindicator #2. It needs details, washes, tracks, and some airbrushed mud. I used Chardon Granite for the weathering, just putting it on a piece of pluck foam and "dabbing" it on where it would be worn. The color worked really well in this case. At least I think so:) Click (or tap) the image for a larger version to see for yourself.

So, looking good or looking bad? Thinking of adding a few larger scrapes to the Siege Shield too.

  1. I think it is looking pretty good so far. Larger scrapes on the shield would be awesome.

  2. Looks good. More scrapes etc on the siege shield would look good as well.

  3. I'm going to use the large scrapes (Chardon, boltgun, mithril) to hide painting mistakes I've made:) Like cleaning up the black epic fails due to my bright idea of "cleaning up" using a brush. The masking tape do not like that and it bleeds something terrible. Airbrush only John, airbrush only!

  5. Thanks! I hope they will look even better finished and next to each other, destroying vehicles and infantry left and right with their mighty 5" pie plates :)

  6. Since it's still a WIP, I think you've got a good start. The only thing I'll say is when you think you just need a tiny bit more weathering... STOP.

    Ron, FTW

  7. @Ron I think I might have hit the "too much" already:) Definitely no more of the granite. I think the dev mud will be ok as it will just be a quick "sweep" to muddy it up a bit. Lacking gunner, the loading thing, tracks, and such as well, so that should knit things together a bit more. Think I will leave out the round on this one, so it's just the loading crane.
